More Utah, More Nieces

Even though it has been almost a month since my trip, I still have a few photos to share. Naturally, most of the pictures are of my nieces...

While I was spending time with Savanna I noticed that she is such a sensitive girl. She cries easily, not because she's a little girl, but because she is just sensitive and emotional. A couple examples: she left David and I a voicemail on our Grand Cayman phone telling us that she watched a movie in primary and it made her cry because she, "felt the Spirit," another time she emailed her dad (she is great at emailing) and said she loved him so much it made her want to "kriy."

We skyped David quite a bit while I was up there. One night I left the room and David was still on the screen. I came back in the room and saw that Savanna had snuck out of her bedroom while she was supposed to be going to sleep and went to talk to Uncle David. When she was about to get in trouble she hurried and went into the playhouse to get the picture of Jesus. She then put it up to the computer so David could see. We thought it was really odd that she did that, and then she whispered, "That means that I love Uncle David." What a funny little girl.

Makenna is at the age where anything she says is cute and funny. A favorite was when she told my dad and I that her mom put her pajamas in the "dishwasher." Maybe it was because it was later at night, but that made my dad and I laugh our heads off.

Makenna also has a little New York accent almost. She will say, "dowa" for door (reminds me of Renee Zelweger on Cinderella Man for some reason). I would try to get her to say it all the time just because it was so dang cute.

I walked in the room and saw that Savanna had taped up my dad's mouth while he was taking his nap. I thought this was so funny.

One of the girls' favorite things to play is "restaurant." This is Makenna talking on the phone while she is in line at Cafe Rio. They loved using the nightstand for a table, ordering real food (carrots, string cheese, and fruit snacks), and using real money and real phones.

My parents take the girls to Chuck E. Cheese's whenever they are in Utah. We went on a weekday in the late morning and had the place to ourselves. The girls acted like they owned the place. They would grab handfuls of tokens and walk around to their favorite games. The cutest was when Savanna came from the photobooth and had taken pictures by herself.

FHE, prayers, that sort of thing can be so much fun with little children. They are just so innocent and sweet.

Makenna and Savanna sure get spoiled from Grandma. They are with her nonstop- especially Makenna. I love this picture for a few reasons: 1) Savanna is making my mom give her a back massage, 2) Makenna is the only one looking at the camera, 3) Makenna is holding a pass-along-card, 4) my mom looks gorgeous, and 5) It shows what kind of pack rats my parents are (hand-held massager, pass-along-cards, the green pillow- don't even know the name or how to describe it except it reminds me of the movie Home Alone).

The gorgeous view from my parents' front yard. You can see 4 temples. It's amazing. The plan is for David and I to live here for the first semester that we are back in Utah. One of the best parts is that they are building a Nordstrom Rack very close to Herriman. I can't wait for that!

Oh and by the way... here is a picture of the playhouse. It's a little nook in between two rooms in the upstairs part of my parents' house. My mom painted the fake windows, fireplace, bookshelf, etc. Don't the bricks look real? It's a tiny little play house and can barely fit the girls and an adult, so it's very cozy. The girls just love it. I have big plans for my mom to create something like this for my kids in my own house someday.

That was so fun to read... can I just pay you to do my blog every week? I'd rather have posts like that than my short, choppy sentences that I put together late every Sunday night. :) Can't wait to show the girls...

I don't envy the transition back to U-tah, so enjoy that last bit of sunshine and waves!
