Last Week

Goals of blogging: force myself to take more photos and write down what we do out here so that years from now we will not wonder what it was that we did our first years of marriage.

Last week:

The week was quiet. David is working on a new project. He is fixing up an old surfboard. It is looking great. I love that he can take something that is all beat up and make it into something that seems brand new.

We've been very behind as a Primary, so our program is not until December. The kids are making me proud by memorizing their parts and showing up for practices on Wednesday nights.

Friday I finally spent some time with Jamie and Casey. For some reason we haven't seen a lot of each other lately (maybe because their poor scooter broke), so it was nice going to Dairy Queen and talking for hours in their apartment.

Elder and Sister Pack are back (from Utah- they had to go for Elder Pack's eye surgery. All went well, thankfully) but are being transfered to another island. I do not know what I am going to do without my quilting/sewing partner and I Elder Pack's compliments on my meals!

Saturday we had two birthday parties to go to. 1) Havioanna celebrated her ten year birthday at Margarittaville. She loved the shirts we got her and wore one on Sunday. She looked adorable! 2) Taz- Rosa's (Del Sol employee) niece had a party on the beach. Delicious food.

That night we chose to watch BYU vs. Utah instead of going to Taste of Cayman. Bad idea.

Sunday: we both spoke in church. We got to choose our topics this time, so I chose to speak on The Family Proclamation and David spoke on Remembrance and remembering the atonement. David's was wonderful! I spoke too fast (and felt really bad once I realized that Arturo was translating. The branch got this new headphone system so the Spanish speaking members can understand).

That afternoon... Christmas pictures didn't work out. Too windy, no photographer, and the background looked kind of boring (same with our poses. Without kids every picture just seems like an engagement photo). We are brainstorming some clever ideas, so hopefully we'll get some sent out here pretty soon. I'm almost thinking to make the pictures into a postcard- you know, save money on the stamps!

The best news of the week.... MOMMY, DADDY, and EM ARE COMING TO VISIT! They bought their tickets and will fly in on Christmas Day! They really do love me!

What fun - you'll have family in town for Christmas! All your pictures turn out great- You two are so photogenic that you could stand next to a dumpster for your Christmas picture and make it look good :) My vote is for a pirate Christmas - send the pirate picture. :) Can't wait to hang up a new picture of you two on my fridge.

You should totally make your Christmas cards into postcards. That is what I did with my Thank you notes. I did it on the Costco photo website. It's easy, pretty cheap, and they send them to you! Totally recommend it!

Very cute picture! Love the colors. How sad that the Packs are moving. It makes me want to cry for you, but I'm sure you will do enough of that on your own. :) I am so happy for Mommy, Daddy, and Em to come visit for Christmas. I am so so excited for all of you!
