David and I love sailing. We want to own a sailboat someday, so that we can sail the world with our children, eat grapes, imported cheeses, Swiss chocolate, and drink sparkling cider.
Until we own a sailboat we have to be creative with our date nights...
One night we had a Chinese themed evening. We ordered Chinese takeout and watched Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (so boring to me).
Last night was a baseball theme. David and I ate hotdogs and peanuts while we watched a baseball movie: The Natural- one of David's favorite childhood movies.. That movie reminds me of my brother, Simon.
And occasionally we have a sailboat night without the actual sailing. I just found heart shaped crackers at the local grocery store that would go perfect with these romantic snacks. Hopefully they aren't leftover from Valentine's Day.

I can't wait until we can move home and can use our beautiful china (I can use it for another China themed night!) instead of this ugly blue and white plate. We registered for it for our wedding, didn't think anyone would buy it, and then ended up getting all of it (six sets from one generous person!). Most of our wedding gifts are sitting in Utah or Arizona in their original packaging, since we moved away right after we got married. It will be fun going home to use it all. Especially since our dishes at our apartment are not very appropriate. The missionaries pointed out the other day that the plate in the photo above has pictures of marijuana plants. Woopsies.

Haha! Your theme-date nights sound so fun...and I'm sure your marijuana plate spices up the dinner ;)
you are adorable. i was laughing about the "marijuana plants". i doubt they would sell plates like that, im guessing their bamboo type leaves?? i love ya sha, i love reading your fun posts. you make me smile, and thats always healthy!
You guys are super cute and creative. I always enjoy reading your blog posts. My father in law and his wife just bought a sailboat and they are sailing around the world for 5 years. Crazy huh? We are excited though because they will have us flown out twice a year to meet them where ever they are.
theme date nights is probably the cutest thing i have ever heard of! how fun!! I'm glad that you are happy and that you found someone to take care of you
Speaking of wedding gifts, I'm glad Mommy found the hundreds of dollars worth in gift cards. :)
Your theme-date night idea is so cute. I just love it. What a great way to have cheap date nights too!
I love the picture. Other than the plate, it looks like it would come from a magazine or something. :)
Chad and I dream of having a sailboat too!! We always watch the sailboats that are out on sunny days and imagine what it would be like to have that lifestyle. We decided that it would not be a very good fit for us since you can't really go to church regularly and it would be hard to see your kids. But we still pretend as we walk by the marina that one of the sailboats (or yahts) is ours.
hey do you know tracy (shabby addict) and dan too?
