A Few Families from the Branch

These are a few pictures from the Daddy/Child primary activity we had this weekend. We hosted a breakfast for the fathers and played the newlywed game, but with questions for the children and their dads. David took these pictures outside the church.

This is Patrick with his two step daughters Chrishaunna and Havionna. Patrick was recently baptized this year and he and Allecia were married at the church. They just found out that they are having a baby! Patrick loves Gucci. He wears the shoes, sunglasses, and pretty much anything else he can find that is Gucci brand. Chrishaunna plays the clarinet and Havionna has an amazing memory. She is a huge help in primary singing time because she knows all of the words.
This is Oscar Rivers Jr., Oscar Sr., Frank, and David. They are big, strong boys, but they have the kindest little hearts. Even though David is at that age where he is too young for Young Mens, but a little too old for the singing time games, he still participates. Oscar is a great missionary to his cousin Colby. He is always inviting him to different activities. Frank is a huge teddy bear. He loves children and he is the sweetest twelve year old you'll ever meet.

This is President Ashby with his daughter Mariah. This family is amazing! They have a beautiful conversion story and they are a lot of fun to hang out with. Mariah and her sister Maurissa are my piano students. I could not ask for better students. They practice all the time and are always looking forward to a challenge. Their mother, Collette, is a dear friend of mine. Not only does she give me a salon haircut for free, but she is very honest. If your hair has dead ends, she'll tell you, and then offer to cut it. If she loves your outfit, she will tell you. She is tells it how it is and is kind and I don't know what I'll do without her when I move away.

This little family here is the Hernandez family. I feel like they are my own little family. They remind me so much of my brother and sisters and I when we were young. They love eating, they love talking, and they share their testimonies every single fast Sunday. Ondina, their mother (who is absolutely gorgeous) is a good friend of mine also. She is that type of person that will come over on a week night, just to talk. She works full time and is a very good mother (she's only 29!). Little Dillon in the front always makes me laugh when he whispers in my ear, "Sister Crandall, Sister Crandall, buy me toys."

These are only a few of the wonderful families that we have in our branch. We have friends that lived here before we did and are now back in the states. They said that they think about this place everyday and that it had such a huge impact on their lives. I know that we are going to be the exact same way. Our time out here is so precious to me.

What precious pictures. Are you going to give copies to the families? They will just love them. You are definitely going to miss that branch. I'm already getting sad for you! Oh well - you will have an excuse to always come back to paradise I guess!

The O.C. is still on, but it's just re-runs no more new episodes. I love what you wrote about us in the dorms. You are so funny. Logan and I thought about selling our TV and then I told him we'd have to watch movies on his laptop like you and I use to. Are you moving back to provo anytime soon? We need to play again. Remember when we wanted to go to the drive through at Wendy's but it was like midnight and we didn't have a car. So, we jumped in a car with some random boys so we could get food. Then, I think they wanted our numbers or something but we weren't really interested we just wanted to use them to get food!

Shalynna, you are so fun. I love your blog. It is so cute. I think it is because you are always thinking of things that I (after reading your posts) wish I did or was better at. I absolutly love your themed date nights, how fun and creative. Davids family is so beautiful and you fit right in. The beakfast looked so fun I wish that Austin could have taken the girls. He had class. See ya soon hopefully.
