New Job and a Few Things Red

New Job: After our vacation I started a new job at a dental office. I was really looking forward to starting work there because now I feel like I am actually progressing toward something. I still want to go to dental hygiene school (even if it seems very far away), so I feel that getting more experience will only help me in the future.

I was so sad to say goodbye to my friends at the jewelry store. I never knew I'd enjoy a job like that and now I know that it was really meant to be that I worked there. I met the most amazing people and I really cherish their friendship. They were very thoughtful and threw me a going away part. My two Filipino friends cooked lunch for everyone and my friend Tiffany organized a going away gift. They bought me a beautiful necklace. It's a tiny little diamond heart pendant on a thin gold chain. I'm in love with how delicate it is.

New Car:
David is wearing a swimsuit in this picture, don't worry. Well, we finally bought a new car. A medical student was leaving the island and was desperate to get rid of her Honda Civic. Because of this, we got a great deal. It's a little bit older and needs some work, but at least it has AC and doesn't feel like it's going to break any second. David is very talented when it comes to cars, so I have no doubt that he'll get it running perfectly.

We won't miss our old car. Actually, we still have it as you can see in the picture. David will hopefully be able to fix it up and then we will sell it before it breaks down completely.

New Hobby:
On Saturdays Sister Pack (senior missionary) and I started a little quilting get together. This is my first square, and even though it may not look like a big deal now, I am really looking forward to the final product. Sister Pack was so sweet and gave me a kit that has all of the fabric and instructions on how to make a beginner's quilt.

New Shoes:
I got these at Ross in Orlando. I love them.

New Swiffer Sweeper: The Swiffer is not red, so I didn't take a picture of it. It works like a charm, though, and our apartment is spick and span every Saturday morning after I use it.

Update on this week:

It was a quiet week. Fridays are half days at work (one of the best things about this job are the hours) so I got to spend time with Maurissa and Mariah Ashby. It was their mom's birthday, so we made brownies and bought flowers, a card, and a little purse to surprise her. Saturday was another day with kids. David surfed for a while and I swam in the pool with the Hernandez kids. That night we had a little date night. We saw Narnia (We saw the first one in the theatre on our first date!) and then went out for sushi. I think one of the best parts of the week was Sunday night. We started this little tradition of sitting on the beach on Sundays. Sometimes we go to the beach close by. It's rocky, so we just sit on a wall by an apartment complex. Lately we've been going to the sandy beach. We bring a blanket and lay down and look at the stars. You can see them so well out here. We always see tons of shooting stars. It's really relaxing and always amazes me how beautiful the Lord's creations are. There is something about laying there and looking at the stars that helps me see things in a more eternal perspective. I really like it and I really like the company too. :)

Hey there. You are so adorable. I have always wanted to make a quilt. I think that is my next project. I think I will need pointers from you. Let me know how difficult it is.

I am so excited for you to start quilting! The fabric is so pretty. Your new shoes are so cute too! I bet you were in heaven shopping in the states again. I love your new Sunday night tradition. What a great idea! I'm longing for beach and the stars right now, but I'm far from the combination. Enjoy it for me too.
