I went through some of my Dad's ties and found two that he is going to let David "borrow" in exchange for one of David's ties. How cute is it that my dad and David share accessories? I also bought him two nice ties from Nordstrom Rack (love how the coral one goes with his suit, don't you?) and found that I did a pretty good job picking them out. David was happy with all of them.
My favorite parts about my basket from him: flower picked from right outside our door, an apple (that was a leftover from my lunch this week!), and an Easter egg with $100. I think the money was a last minute thing after he saw that I had spoiled him so much. :)
Other Easter activities from our weekend included two Easter egg hunts and a picnic with close friends. I thought it was one of the cutest things that David planned an egg hunt with both of the Del Sol stores. He said the employees (average age 35+ years old) were acting like children as they screamed, pushed, shoved, and tore apart the t-shirt shelves to find the eggs. Who knew a couple $10 bills would make them so happy. One of them even said, "I can't wait to put this in my piggy bank," when she found the egg with about $2 in spare change. David said he had never seen the girls so happy.
We then had a primary Easter egg hunt at the church. I was especially happy because this activity only lasted about an hour and a half. Thank goodness! (I do love the children, but a 4-hour primary activity is a little long for me).
Yesterday afternoon we had a nice little picnic with our "American" friends on the island. David grilled some hot dogs for the kids and kielbasa for the parents. Everyone else was kind enough to provide the delicious sides and we sure enjoyed visiting with our good friends.
We listened to this beautiful message last week during conference, yesterday, and I think I might listen to it again today. It is just too perfect for this weekend.
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter. I'm going out on a whim and switching up the traditional ham Easter dinner to seared tuna steaks, wakame salad, pineapple, and coconut rice. Not very
Easter-y but it is island-y, so it will have to do this year.
