Our Christmas

Last year's Christmas picture makes us look young and carefree. This year we looked tired and stressed. Next year we'll have a bigger tree, we'll have smaller gifts (student budget vs. full time workers), and we'll have less of a tan.

We had a wonderful Christmas morning. David was excited about the zoom lens I got him for our camera along with an Abe Lincoln biography and a few fun stocking surprises. I loved his gifts to me of the classic book Pride and Prejudice, a giftcard, delicious treats in my stocking, and my very favorite- a huge collection of mac brushes and makeup to build up my makeup supply.

Other favorite gifts included a customized blurb book from my mom displaying our Walt Disney World pictures, a gorgeous shirt from Asialene, much needed black heels and quilted purse given to me by Jamie and Casey (totally went over the limit!), and a purse that I had my eye on from David's mom. David loved his clothing from his parents, giftcard from Em, and fancy shpancy pen from his employees.

I think my most favorite Christmas gift of all was a visit form my mom, dad, and sister. Even though their six bags were left in Atlanta for a few days, we still enjoyed ourselves (and the $75 a day from Delta Airlines to compensate for each day the bag was gone. I got a very cute dress with my portion). More highlights of their trip will come in a later post. For now I am enjoying ever moment with them before they leave next week.

David had to work until 11:00 PM on Christmas Eve while I spent the evening at Ondina's house with a bunch of other branch members. The feast was filling and the fireworks entertaining. I had fun doing last minute gift wrapping that night with David.

After we picked my parents up at the airport on Christmas Day we opened a few gifts with them and then went to Rosa's house (Del Sol employee) for a delicious Christmas luncheon. We get pretty spoiled out here.

The following day four of the six bags came, which meant more gifts. The best part was Em's face when she opened up her new camera. What a surprise for her from my parents! The second best part was when I mistakenly gave one of my mom's gifts (women's shoes) for David's. He was really funny when he opened that one!

I have really cute parents and a Em has a cute arm (didn't mean to cut her off in this photo :).

The evening of Christmas we went to the famous house with Christmas lights galore. It was our version of the temple lights. :) The yellow palm tree below is a fake CHRISTMAS decoration. Who makes fake palm trees that light up in bright yellow? Not very Christmasy if you ask me.

And Christmas was only the beginning of a wonderful time with the family. As I said before, more blogging to come.

I love the picture of Em's arm. I can totally picture exactly what her entire body (face and all) is doing. :) Fun pictures of everyone!
