Nutritional goal: Drink more water more often.
Social goal: Write more cards as in Thank You cards, Birthday cards (I used to think a Birthday card was not enough and would then either get a gift for someone or do nothing- but have decided that a birthday card is plenty because it shows 1. that I care 2. that I remembered and 3. my love for that person), holiday cards including holidays other than Christmas.
Physical goal: Snorkel more- that's my kind of exercise since I despise running and gym membership fees (close to $150 a month for a gym membership out here).
Educational goal: Read more classic books. I'm starting with Pride and Prejudice and will move onto The Count of Monte Cristo and Les Mes (started both in 2007, got bored, never finished them). Also, get good grades and study hard when I go back to BYU in the fall.
Fun goal: Go to the beach more often- preferably once a week. Also, with mine and David's list of resolutions we included a fun goal of visiting a country other than the US this year. We are thinking of Cuba or Costa Rica, but we shall see.
Financial goal: Continue to keep a budget and write down our spendings with accuracy.
Grammar goal: Use less parentheses. I just thought of this one as I'm writing this post. I remember trying to use smaller and larger font to give the proper effect to my posts and lessen the amount of ( )'s , but that did not last very long.I also use too many !'s and also realized how annoying it can really be. Joanna's post regarding this topic was very funny. She's very witty.
Internet goal: Blog less. This one I also came up with as I'm writing this post for two reasons 1) my grammar goal alluded to another blog which shows I look at blogs too much and 2) it is 1:17 AM and I am working tomorrow AND baby sitting a crazy little 2 year old that speaks Patua.
Emotional goal: Slow down and ponder more. I realized this as I read past journal entries. I reflected more and wrote down more feelings in the past. I feel that I get caught up with work, callings, dinner guests, getting together with friends, emails, phonecalls, blogging, etc. and I do not ponder as much as I should.
Spiritual goal: Stop falling asleep while it's David's turn to read scriptures, 100% with visiting teaching each month (and doing it with real intent and love and concern for the sister as opposed to a check mark next to her name), and always being prepared for my calling.
Safety goal (recently added today): Not letting my husband surf too much to prevent injuries such as a wave flipping the board up, hitting his nose, and causing it to split open, which then resulted in ten stitches, and a HUGE medical bill (so huge that I almost thought of not paying it and leaving the island for good), and a painful nose for my poor David.

I'm sorry about david's accident. Hope he'is ok. That must have hurt. maybe we should have stayed longer. Then he would just have been hanging out with the family. But then again he would have done it anyway after we live. I cant believe we are back in the US already. Our stay was just like a twinkling of an eye. Too fast. I worry about you too. please be careful.
love.

Shalynna! Don't even play with my emotions like that- you know how much I love traveling, and Peru is on the TOP of my list right now. I can't believe you have already been there. I would go in a heart beat. I hope the islands are treating you well. As always, Arizona misses you.
I love the pictures of your cute family. I am so glad that I got to meet them. They are so great. Your mom is so pretty, now I know where you get it from. I love your reflection on 2008. I may still that idea if I ever get ambitious the next few days. Good job on your new years resolutions. I hope that david is feeling okay. A broken toe, missing toe nail, and spines in the feet are nothing compared to poor davids nose. Maybe that board is bad luck?
Hope David is o.k. Sorry about the $$$$ for medical bills. I am impressed/overwhelmed with all of your resolutions. Wow! I feel like I need to take a nap after just reading them. You are very ambitious. And amazing. My only resolution is to wake up earlier. :) - Amy
Hello my sweet ShawShaw. I just helped Haylie move out the other day (last night she is officially moved out!) and I sent her your love. She said she thinks about you all of the time but never acts on her impressions to call you or email you. She said she misses you SOOOO much and just loves you so much.
You are such a good friend Shaw. She needs you- and you have always stood by her side NO MATTER WHAT. Thanks Shaw- I love hearing from you- you are such a sweeite!!
I'm so glad that you called me yesterday! It totally made my day. I feel like we have not talked over the phone in a year! I loved your comment on our blog about the dorms and side ponytails. I want to get out my old pictures and look at them again. Thanks for being such a great friend. Can't wait until September!
Oh my goodness! I am so happy that you guys found our blog! We were always wondering where you ended up and the only news we heard of you was that you were still out in the caribbean! We are moving out to Hawaii in April and we are so excited! Hopefully we get to see you guys again soon! Tell us if you are ever in California!
