I always brag about my older brother who is so cool, but today really is the day to point out reasons why he is so cool. on 711 Simon Zebedee Elmore celebrates his birthday.
Why is he so cool?
1) He taught me to love the Beatles from the time I was in early elementary school. He also taught me how to play the guitar when I was like 8 or something (I have since lost that talent). He also used to call me Pancake Face because my face was (still is?) so round.
2) He has his pilot's license.
3) He is an auctioneer like my dad. He went to auction school and everything.
4) He is a structural engineer. I don't know much about this occupation, but I do know that at one point in his office he had a huge American flag that took up a whole wall, a framed picture of my grandpa on my dad's side and my grandpa on my mom's side, and other random things like some sort of music indicator when someone was coming close by or something. Music would go off when they were within a certain amount of feet/
5) He went on his mission to Bilbao, Spain and his voicemail is in English first, and then Spanish and probably one percent of the people that call him even speak Spanish.
6) He loves Disney World more than anyone I know.
7) He makes the best videos ever.
8) He has been a perfect brother my entire life.

A video competition Simon entered in for a commercial for a local radio station. He made it in one night or one hour or something. It makes me laugh every single time I watch it.A more sentimental side of Simon. This video is kind of long, so if you don't have time just watch a tiny bit at the beginning, middle, and end. It's so cute.
We got Simon the coolest birthday present, but I can't talk about it on here in case he reads this. It was something that we ordered online, so I thought it would get to him fast. Well, when I ordered it the delivery time said it would be 3-4 weeks! So, I guess he'll get it eventually and when he does I will gladly post pictures of it because it is a great gift idea for all brothers alike.

Shalynna! Thanks for the post. Man, if I ever have a bad day I'll just bring up your blog! You're a great lil' sis. I'm blessed with such great family. Can't wait to get your gift. I wanted my first child to be a boy because I loved having Simon as an older brother. (But I'm not complaining about having Savanna - I'm so glad she's my first) He WAS such a perfect older brother. He always looked out for us and of course teased us a lot, but in a fun-loving kind of way. He always calls us to check up on us and never misses a holiday phone call. We're so lucky to have such a caring brother who sets such a good example for us in many different ways.

I'm with you Shalynna, that video makes me laugh every time I see it. I love the "homely" piano part. Hahahaha! One thing you didn't mention about Simon is that he never talks about himself. Whenever you talk to him he someone turns the conversation back to you, even when you're asking him questions! One of the nicest people I've ever met (if not the nicest). Happy Birthday Simon!
