Christmas with the Grand Cayman Branch

We have been having so much fun with the branch and have enjoyed getting to know the members out here. They are such special people and we are so blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with them and serve with them. They continue to surprise us with their generosity. This is a photo of a few of the children from the branch. President Johnson, the first counselor in the branch presidency, gives Christmas gifts to every single child in the branch. He has done this for years now and the children look forward to it every year.
We had our branch Christmas party on Friday. David and I slipped away from work for an while (Kirk Freeport stayed open until ten this weekend) to enjoy the delicious feast and Christmas program that was held. They are definitely spoiling us with branch activities, I mean look at this fountain for the punch! The activity leader planned a Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, they are talking about a New Year's dinner, and maybe even a Valentine's dinner! We sure miss being away from home on holidays, but we are being treated very well at all of these church functions. I should also add that any time someone in the branch has a birthday, or if a family moves, there is always a surprise party for them. It's like a big family out here, and we absolutely love it.
The Christmas program was fun today. The choir sang Still, Still, Still and What Child is This and the congregation sang a few songs. The Primary children sang Mary's Lullaby, which was so precious. David was the narrator and did a great job.

During singing time in Primary, the kids learned the song Picture a Christmas. They sang it so beautifully, and then reenacted the nativity scene (with some random costumes that we put together). It was very cute.
Here is the adorable mother Mary. Aaliyah is only three and is usually quite energetic, but when she wore her costume she was as peaceful as if she really were holding baby Jesus!

One thing I was really missing on Sunday was not playing the piano in Primary. Every now and then I could hear the primary kids singing Christmas songs during church, and I wished I could have been there. You're so lucky you got to see the cute kids and hear the songs. I would have LOVED to hear our Primary sing in Sacrament or something, and especially "Mary's Lullaby" - I LOVE that song.

I can't believe that fountain! It seems like so much work for such a small group. :)
