Last night we celebrated our sixth month anniversary. We are trying to save money, so we don't go out to eat very often. I started teaching piano lessons a few weeks ago, so we decided that this will be our date money. We ate at Copper Falls Steak House. We both hadn't had a steak in so long that our mouths were literally watering as we read the menu! The food was delicious and we were glad we chose this restaurant to spend our special evening. We are excited to start this blog so we can keep in touch with everyone while we are out here on this island! Here is what we have been doing the past six months...

April 25, 2007 we were married in the Salt Lake City Temple. That day happened to be the last day of finals, so we were very busy taking tests, packing up our things, and preparing for the wedding in the days leading up to the big day. The wedding was perfect and everything that was planned fell right into place. The following day we had our first of three receptions. Most of our friends and all of our family were able to attend the reception which made it a really fun night. The next morning we left for California to board a cruise for our honeymoon.

Our honeymoon was so much fun. We went on a cruise of Mexico that stopped in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. At the first stop in Puerto Vallarta we thought we would save money by taking a "non cruise sponsored" boat to a private beach. We both were sun burned and the boat came back about a half hour late. We were so sure that the cruise was going to leave without us, that we planned on taking a bus to the next port!

We had our California reception on the day we got back from the honeymoon and the Arizona reception the following week. While we were waiting to go to Grand Cayman for our Del Sol internship, we spent some time in Arizona. David installed a beautiful wood floor in my parents' house and I worked at the dental office in Scottsdale. We also treated ourselves to a few trips to Last Chance. David loves it just as much as I do! We spent the beginning of the summer working as interns at two Del Sol stores in Grand Cayman. David accepted a job as the general manager of the two stores a few months later, which means we will be living on this island for the next year and a half!

This is a picture of us with the entire branch. We've really enjoyed the past few months living out here. Our favorite things are the branch, the beach, and visitors! One of my friends from the dorms came down with her husband at the beginning of the summer, David's sister Ashlie and her boyfriend Josh were next, and recently my sister Asialene, her husband, and some of his family were here. We'll keep this blog updated to share all of our stories (like when David's life was threatened by an employee he fired, or when I was "muse" for a Filipino basketball team!).
