For a free burrito. Ironic that two blog posts in a row are about free burritos? Yes. One of the main things we did on Halloween was dressed like burritos to get free Chipotle.
Then we dressed up like Jasmine (Asialene's costume from her 9th grade year!) and Aladdin (he looked more like a terrorist, actually). We didn't take pictures, but that is okay because we'll probably wear the same costumes again someday.
Then I put out a huge bowl of candy and David was right- some punk kids took it all within a short period of time. They even took my "Please take one and Happy Halloween!" sign. Luckily they didn't take the bowl. It's like the best salad bowl in the world.
Then we went to Provo and enjoyed ourselves at a friend's party and stopped by another friend's house and found ourselves talking all night about Cayman to two people that had never been there. I guess we really do miss it there.
Then we came home and made the bed because the sheets and duvet cover were still in the dryer. There is nothing worse than wanting to get into bed after 1:30 AM to find that there are no sheets on it. I've been moody lately and a mean wife. I threw a huge fit when we were making the bed because I was getting so frustrated. I threw the sheets down and pouted and finally David told me to get ready for bed while he did it. I've also been crying over everything. Today I cried at the doctor's appointment because I didn't want to get the H1N1 vaccine (not scared of the needle, but kind of nervous to get a vaccine that is so new... I know, kind of weird). We are studying in the library right now and I am getting so annoyed at a guy at the next table because he keeps clearing his throat. Poor guy probably has a cold, but in my mean mind I am soooooo annoyed!
Baby is doing well and, according to the doctor, everything is "perfect." He kicks and moves so much that he bruised my rib. It feels like it is literally broken if I sleep on that side.
Since I didn't take photos of our costumes, I will leave you with the cutest kids in the world: my nieces and nephews. (most costumes were homemade by my talented mother and sister-in-law).
I can't believe that next year I will have a little boy to dress up! I better brush up on my sewing skills...

My father-n-law actually dressed up as a terrorist. It was a little scary.
And I seriously can't imagine you being mean or grumpy. But I know that I will be the same way when I'm pregnant...
thank you for posting! i was really hoping to see the jasmine costume, or at least you as a burrito. i know you have pictures.
those costumes are so darling! and i know just what you mean about trying to make the bed when you want to be asleep already. it makes me grumpy just thinking about it.
i'm trying to leave you a good long comment because you leave the best comments.
you are cute.
I am mean and grouchy when I'm NOT pregnant, so I can only imagine how awful I will be if pregnancy can turn YOU, the sweetest of sweets, into a grouchy person. Poor Kyle will have to become POOR POOR POOR Kyle or something.
I get REALLY mad when people crunch on carrot sticks in the library.
Also, the mushroom child does not look happy to be the one stuck in a mushroom hat. But those costumes are hands-down amazing.
I owe you an email. Don't think I've forgotten!
Yes the creepy spider is real and porter had it in a jar next to our tv for two days. I had the eebie geebies the whole time. and i would have done the free burrito dress up in a heartbeat if i had the opportunity!!! way fun. Im sorry you have been emotional lately. . .isnt being pregnant fun?!? dont worry you will be back to yourself with a sweet baby in your arms before you know it and it will be all worth the crazy emotions. love ya girl!!
So cute! I love the kids costumes!
I was the same way while I was prego, I wanted mexican food all the time. More specifically, fili's 3 rolled tacos. I think you crave food from your childhood.
These past several weeks I have been having flashbacks of what I was doing a year ago, and all of them involve me being a major debbie downer because I was pregnant. Not that I was unhappy to be pregnant, but my emotions are SO CRAZY! I remember shopping with a friend and she wanted to pick up a pizza on the way home and I was such a brat and said no because I was too tired. Oh I was dying laughing with the sheets story. You are so cute. Just a couple days after I had J I was reading scriptures aloud for me and chad. Chad told me I was reading a little loud. I totally started crying and went to bed so upset. Crazy times. just wait.
You always make me laugh when I read your blog. We missed you guys this year for Halloween. It just wasn't the same without the "sweaty and frustrated" rollercoaster. Don't worry about being emotional...I am such an emotinal mess all the time. I was so emotional at church this week that Laura asked me if I was pregnent too. (the answer is no) I also was so grouchy when I was pregnant Austin was probably wondering what he had gotten himself into.lol. I love your cute nieces and nephews costumes...they are so cute.
Don't feel bad, Shalynna, it's called gestational rage and you're allowed to have it.
haha i love this. we so almost dressed up as burritos too for free chipotle but instead we got free long john silvers for wearing in a costume (don't ever go there...it will make you sick!)
I can't believe you were Jasmine and I also can't believe you didn't take a picture!!! The Jasmine costume would be perfect while pregnant now that I think about it. Sorry to say, but if clearing your throat bothers you... DON'T come near Savanna while you're pregnant. Hahaha! That's so cute about your baby moving around so much! Can't wait to see what he'll look like.
ugh...bruised rib...it's all worth it when you meet him :)
I love that you dressed up twice! Dang for no pics! Next time. Ok I totally understand the crying thing! Oh my gosh, my hormones are going crazy. What the heck!
oh my gosh i HATE when we have to put the sheets on the bed at 1:30 in the morning. but i also hate getting ready for bed. ugh. it takes so long. i wish i could have seen you dressed up as a burrito. i don't know why its so funny to me, but it really did make me laugh out loud. and when i think of you being mean it makes me laugh too because for some reason i just can't really see you being mean.
and it took you long enough to post hello!
I have the perfect costumes for the baby for next year! Do you remember those skin tight Superman and Batman ones that I made for the boys? Even if the new baby doesn't wear them for halloween - I'll have to send them out so you can play dress up and take some funny pictures. We love Chipotle - totally worth dressing up like a burrito. - Amy
Just catching up on your blog. I wish you guys would have taken pictures of the Jasmine and Aladdin costumes! BTW, did I tell you that a couple weeks ago the founder of Chipotle came to Wharton? I set a few feet from him during his lecture. Cool guy, very cool business. Hope all is well with little Oliver! Can't wait to meet him.
