I know, it's been a while.
He sold our Canon Rebel and video camera and bought a new camera. Selling electronics on this island is awesome. We can pretty much sell something for what we paid for it (even David's seven year old video camera!). I guess it's a trade off since everything else is expensive.
He had corn rows for about a day and a half. I'm in love with his hair, but definitely not in love with braids in it!
I've made the same exact Sunday dinner for the past two Sundays- lasagna, green salad, and garlic bread. I just love that I can make a lasagna in the morning or day before without having to stress about it after church. The first Sunday we had the "Hermanos" from the branch come over and today we had the Myers over. David usually manages to spill a little bit of sauce on himself and it is one of the things I love most about him. I think it is so, so funny. Yesterday sour cream spilled out of the end of his burrito when he wasn't wearing a shirt. That was really funny.
I've been able to sit in on David's Gospel Doctrine classes and I enjoy every minute of it. At times I forget that it's actually Sunday School because it's so interesting!
Then comes primary... I'm trying to be a better Primary leader. We had a training session a couple weeks ago and were told to try our best to not let the children see us frustrated. I'm trying to be patient and loving, but it can be so hard when the kids are not behaving or listening. I try to prepare a fun activities, but the children seem to be hungry, tired, and ready to go home by singing time. We have a tiny primary room (probably the size of a bathroom in a regular sized church building) and limited leaders to help calm everyone down. I'm probably being a drama queen, but today I was so upset it actually brought me to tears. I guess I need to toughen up. I know the moment I walk out that church building for my last time I will miss those children like crazy, so I should definitely put my love for them over my frustration with their behavior.
So basically, I can tell David an idea I have and he can create it with Photoshop. For example, our Christmas card pictures. I wanted a photo booth strip with pictures from our year and an aged look and he exceeded my expectations. Recently he designed something that I love and adore. It will probably show up here on my next blog post. Be sure to look out for it.
Oh and another random piece of news is that I have been on this odd phase where I watch Oscar acceptance speeches on YouTube. David thinks it is the weirdest thing, and I'll admit that it is very weird. I will watch these speeches and then tear up at their humility and touching words. I literally spent about two hours the other day watching these clips. What a weird phase.
Happy Birthday to my sister Emerald tomorrow. I'm going to look for a cheesy e-card for her to make her cry like I did last year. How sweet is it that she cried at the one I sent last year? She never really seems to be that sentimental, but finding that the e-card made her cry ended up making me cry and it was just a silly card!
I don't know when I'll post next. I had this grand idea of doing a series of what we'll miss and what we won't miss about Cayman, but I'm not sure if I'll get around to it. Maybe I should just tell David my idea and the vision in my head and he can make it happen like all of the Photoshop successes.

I love those photos of you two!! You are so in love and it's so cute! I love reading your blog. It makes me happy
such cute pictures and a good, honest update!! It looks like you're doing well and I'm sure those kids in Primary appreciate you even though they may not show it. I've had some pretty frustrating experiences in our Spanish branch, so it was refreshing to see that you get frustrated too!! :) Keep the updates coming :) You look beautiful.
You are so sweet. I know I say that every time I comment on your blog, but seriously. That you find it cute when David spills food on himself every time he eats just inspired me to try and be more positive in everything:) Kent spills a little bit of sauce or food on HIMself every time too... and I don't know how cute I have thought it is for these past years:)Love you to bits and pieces. Thanks for the post.
cute pictures!!! that is cute about the e card to emerald, she is such a sweetheart! and i think it is so shalynna to watch oscar acceptance speaches. for some reason i just pictures chanel reading that and laughing out load at her computer, dont ask me why i just pictured it. miss you!
AWESOME photos. I feel like we took SO many pictures on the island, but not one of them turned out classically beautiful like yours! It's either because 1) we aren't as good of photographers as you (likely, but don't tell Kyle!), or 2) we don't have as good a height ratio.
I blame everything bad in my life on our stupid height ratio.
And Kyle's mad (not really, but he will be when I tell him to read this post) that you said you got a new camera but didn't say what kind. Details?
Those pictures are so pretty! I love your bangs and wish I could see them better though! That is so funny about you watching the Oscar acceptance speeches. How do you find time to be so productive AND do things like that? You're so good with your time and I have to learn from you. I want to see the corn rows!!! And I love how David makes you crepes, listens to French music and speaks French. So cute.
You are so cute. Thanks so much for having us over the other day. We had such a good time. Austin kept saying how much he is going to miss you guys. The girls and I will to. I have been craving that salad dressing since sunday and so I will probably have to go get some tomorrow. Just an idea why don't you do singing time first next week and we will see how it goes. Since the kids have to learn the songs more right now rather than me telling them cheesy stories. Amy way thanks again. Have a good week :)
P.S I really want to see pictures of David with corn rows. lol

I thought I had already commented on this, but I guess not. Adorable photos!
I wish that I had your photography skills. I agree about the lasagna and how its great to be able to make something the day before or morning of and then just throw it in the oven when its time to cook it. That is also why I love my crockpot. I make dinner in the morning and then let it cook all day until we're ready to eat it.
I think you guys really are the cutest couple! Hope all is well with island life.
Ha - I love that we both read Busy Bee Lauren. :) i just saw that you commented today. Good comment.
