Shalynna Facts

Tagged from Niki and Jess...

10 years ago I was...
In Mrs. Steven's sixth grade class and definitely thinking I was so cool. I loved LEI flair jeans, wearing Asialene's makeup and shirts, and listening to the Spice Girls. I was getting over a recent breakup with Brandon Koontze at this time also. I am pretty sure this was around the time that my family decided to move to Arizona. I was devastated.

5 things on my to do list tomorrow (it's nighttime right now, so I changed "today" to "tomorrow")...
1) Work
2) Tutor Joanna in math (a little girl from the branch)
3) Make taco soup for dinner
4) Watch one of the episodes of the first season of Lost with David (we are hooked)
5) Catch up on some email writing

4 things I would do if I were a billionaire...
1) Buy homes near everyone we love- Riverton, UT near Asialene and Davis, Mesa near Em and my parents, Pennsylvania near Simon and Amy, Sacramento and Santa Cruise near David's family, and a beach house in Grand Cayman. The house that we'd settle in would be  a Spanish style house with an iron gate, courtyard, fountain with Spanish tiles, etc. (Like the one in the Groves near Jessica's parents' house) and fix it up and decorate it without worrying about spending too much money.
2) Use the money to fund different organizations that support and spread the importance of the family and home. I would spend tons of money to counsel and educate people all over the world about how to create a loving environment for children, and also how to nurture marriage, etc.
3) Travel all over the world with my entire family
4) Surprise my husband with a new watch for each birthday, anniversary, or Christmas. (He is obsessed with watches now that we are surrounded by them at Kirk Freeport)

3 bad habits...
1) I put my visiting teaching off until the very end of the month
2) I hardly ever fill up the Brita filter. Sometimes I put it back in the fridge with nothing in it and David gets so annoyed.
3) I compete and compare myself with others

5 places I have lived...
1) Bothell, Washington
2) Mesa, Arizona
3) Provo, Utah
4) Georgetown, Grand Cayman
5) Prospect, Grand Cayman

5 jobs I have had...
1) Egg Roll Express as a cashier, waitress, and bus girl. I was only 14.
2) Piano Teacher
3) Dental Assistant for Dr. Cooper
4) Site Development secretary at BYU Grounds office
5) Jewelry sales associate selling brand name watches and jewelry :)

6 things most people don't know about me...
1) I love everything about other countries and cultures. Any time I see an elderly Asian man I immediately think of my Inkong (my mom's dad) and it usually makes me want to cry! I love Latin American people also. Ever since I visited Peru as a teenager, I have loved the Spanish culture- especially little kids that speak Espanol! I am fascinated by traditions in families of other cultures and social dynamics that make them different.
2) I am a very nostalgic person. I get it from my dad. I always remember past experiences and think about them quite often. It might sound so weird, but in Mesa every time spring came around, the smell of orange blossoms would make me sad. For some reason it made me think of the year before and I missed that time for whatever reason. It's the weirdest thing. It doesn't happen anymore, but I also have not been in Mesa when the orange blossoms first give out their scent in a few years.
3) I have a really hard time with change. It used to be so difficult to leave Mesa for Provo when school came around and then when summer came, and I moved back to Mesa, I would miss Provo. When I first moved out here I was a wreck and I know when I leave I will wish I was staying.
4) Every time David and I are trying to take a Sunday afternoon nap, one of us flicks or tickles the other person and it usually starts a huge flicking, pinching, tickling, slapping, or punching fight. Then we end up trucing and shaking hands. It makes me laugh just thinking about it. We spend practically every waking moment together and we never get bored.
5) I get really scared to be home alone. I can't vacuum, shower, blow dry my hair, or do dishes when I'm home alone. It scares me to do those things because I feel like it needs to be quiet so I can hear if anyone is around.
6) I've never had a pedicure, a massage, or my hair highlighted. I've always wanted to do these things, but I've always been way too cheap. I still regret the time that I spent $70 on a haircut.

I tag...
Kelly, Brittany, Brittney, and David. I feel like I should let him participate with this blog, so maybe he'll like to do share a few facts about himself.

I loved this post. I especially loved reading the last one about things most people don't know about you. I also liked to read about what you would do with a billion dollars - you are always thinking of others. :)

I love that one of your bad habits is not filling up the Brita filter. I think that is so funny. Probably because I would think you would be good at that!

Did you know I am going to be an auntie?!?!?! Christy is having a baby! I am so excited!

P.S. Thanks for the tag.
